Areas of interest include: cyclone genesis and development (tropical and extratropical), hybrid cyclone structure, cyclone structural transition (including tropical and extratropical transition) and predictability, the role of tropical cyclones in climate, tropical-extratropical interactions, synoptic meteorology and weather forecasting, statistical and numerical weather prediction, weekly to seasonal forecasting using statistical and analog methods, ensemble forecasting and visualization techniques.
