During a visit by the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations, His Excellency Dennis Francis, four EOAS professors presented a brief summary of faculty research related to climate change, the carbon cycle on multiple time scales, sea level rise, sustainability, and the related impacts of extreme weather events such as hurricanes, following a tour of the new EOAS Building. The visit to EOAS was followed by an extremely well-attended presentation by His Excellency for the entire University in Turnbull titled “Strengthening Climate Action: The role of the United Nations General Assembly in addressing sea-level rise and other climate-induced disasters.”
