Graduate Advising

***Important Notice: Masters and Ph.D. applicants for Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 are not required to submit a GRE score***

The Department of Earth Ocean and Atmospheric Science employs three full-time academic advisors who advise our undergraduate and graduate students. We are located in the new Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science building on the second and third floors.  Students are asked to schedule an appointment by emailing the appropriate advisor, based on major and level.

Students are encouraged to seek academic advising at least once a semester prior to the registration cycle. Students should see individual faculty members for advice about research interests and potential Directed Individual Study (DIS) opportunities. Individuals interested in graduate work should speak with the graduate advisors, Michaela Lupiani and Shel McGuire, by the beginning of their junior year for advice on doing research for credit and applying to graduate schools.
